The Sangameswara temple is an ancient  temple in the Kurnool districtAndhra Pradesh. It is located near Muchumarri village at the confluence of the Krishna and Bhavanasi rivers, in the foreshore of the Srisailam reservoir,[2] where it is submerged for part of the time, surfacing when the water level recedes to a sufficient degree.[3] It was first submerged after the Srisailam Dam was constructed in 1981, and first surfaced in 2003.[1]
The temple's wooden Lingam, Sangameswaram, is believed to have been installed by Dharmaraja,The temple is considered a place of religious sanctity due to being built at the confluence of seven rivers i.e, Bhavanasi, Krishna River and five rivers that merge into it beforehand, namely, Veni, TungaBhadra, Bheemarathi and Malapaharini. recently the Beemalingama was founded in river.

  • Nandikotkur is amunicipality (equivalent to County or borough), located 27 km from Kurnool district in Andhra Pradesh.
  •  It serves as a major transit point connecting important cities like Kurnool and Guntur. The route to Srisailam from Kurnool also traverses through Nandikotkur. The legend says that Nandikotkur is surrounded by nine nandi statues (bulls) and hence this place was earlier called NavaNandikotkur and now this is called Nandikotkur. 
  • Handri Neeva Canal which provides irrigation water to Kurnool, Anantapur, Kadapa and Chittoor districts starts from Nadikotkur  only. 
  • Sangamaheshwaram the place where seven rivers meet is located around 12 km from Nandikotkur.
